Vasudev Krishna kills Shishupala...

Episode#24

After few years rolled by, when the kingdom of Indraprastha was ready, Pandavas started exporting and craftsmen to this new city.

In this beautification process, however massive deforestation occurred and several inhabitants, especially the Nagas got killed in colossal numbers. Arjuna was cursed by the Naga King that his descendants will face death through a snake bite.

They built a fabulous Palace called Maya Sabha and then started world the World Conquest whereby the most powerful King would be adjudged at a universal level.

Yudhishtira happened to vanquish all the major kings and won the title of The Best Monarch! As per the norms, Yudhishtira was now eligible to perform the great Rajasuya Yagnya wherein all the kings and Maharajas were invited.

At this ceremony, Yudhishtira very humbly offered the first seat of honor to Vasudev Krishna being his closet ally and advisor. But Shishupala protested against honouring Vasudev Krishna threatening to break up the assembly objecting "That of all the persons, the Pandavas chose to honor Krishna - a mere cowherd, a Yadavas, who killed his own maternal uncle and absconded leaving his Mathura to be destroyed and burned down by Jarasandha, this is the greatest dishonor to the Great Kings who have assembled from all over the places."

During the time of the birth of Shishupala the oracles had foretold that he would be killed by Vasudev Krishna, Shishupala mother requested Krishna to forgive him for his misdoings, Krishna promised her that "he will forgive him for the first hundred misdoings but thereafter he will not spare him"

Shishupala's outrageous speech and behavior was his 101 mistake....Little realizing that he was inviting his own death. Before anyone could realize, Krishna hurled his sudarshana chakra that made a clean sharp slit across Shishupala neck which rolled down in the floor leaving the onlookers dumbfounded.

(The reason of Shishupala hatred for Krishna was that Krishna had abducted and married Rukmani - the woman Shishupala loved dearly)

A great uproar started among the kings - raising hue about a cowherd killing the King of Chedi, it culminated into many distinguished kings leaving the sabha.

Tales of Pandavas and Kauravas

Untold story episode #95 Vaisampayana the student of sage Vyasa narrated to Janamejaya, the tale of Pandavas and the Kauravas and all the kings who ruled the land of Bharat Varsh - this tale was known as Mahabharata. The tale was composed by his guru Sage Vyasa and written by Lord Ganesha. He questioned sage Vaisampayana, at the end "I am confused " said Janamejaya "who is the hero of this tale? And who is the villain?" "Who shall we call villain? Duryodhana who refused to share even a small piece of land? Yudhishtira, who gambled away his wife and kingdom? Bhisma, who prevented Dhritarashtra from becoming the king because he was blind,  Shantanu, who sacrificed his son's future to satisfy his own lust? Or is it Gandhari, for blindfolding herself to her son's misdeeds and faults? Or maybe Lord Krishna, who had long ago promised the Earth-goddess to rid the world of unrighteous kings? You decide who is hero and who is villain" said Vaisampayana.  ++
