Swayamwara of Laxmani daughter of Duryodhana....!

Episode#41

The Royal Ordeals and Pre-preparations of swayamwara began in real earnest, invitations were sent to all the eligible Princes except the Yadavas Princes namely Abhimanyu and Samba - Laxmani, though heartbroken after hearing that Abhimanyu was married to Vatsala, she expected him to be present as she did not mind being his second wife, however, she refrained from confiding her love to her father.

When Samba realized that he was not invited for Laxmani swayamwara, he left for Hastinapur to attend the swayamwara without informing his father Vasudev Krishna, he was sure that she will garland him and he confidently mingled amongst the other Princes.

The grand moment arrived and princess Laxmani looking extremely gorgeous clad in a stunning pink couture - tiptoed in the hall flanked by her brother Laxmana Kumar on one side and Vidura on other. As Vidura introduced her to every prince, her eyes searched frantically for Abhimanyu but everything was in vain!

She was sad and miserable and in no mood in any of the Princes her eyes constantly searching for Abhimanyu, she passed across Samba without recognizing him, and infuriated Samba felt insulted and without thinking twice, he lifted her physically; pulled out his sword and disappeared with her on chariot.

Duryodhana, Karna and other elders stood dumbstruck in their tracks, they all chased and caught Samba and imprisoned him in the Hastinapur prison, and he had to face considerable humiliation because of his immature impulsive act!

Laxmani was in a great shock and was immediately treated for recovery - the trauma was caused because in olden times if any stranger touched an unmarried girl she would be considered ineligible for matrimony! Owing to this turn of events all the assembled Princes left without waiting for Laxmani to recover from her trauma.

Gandhari: My son Duryodhana was invincible...!

Episode#81 Gandhari says "I do not envy the victory of Pandavas and ibagree that my intense grief has robbed me of my understanding! These Pandavas also are my sons. I know that Dusshasana and Sakuni brought about this destruction and that Arjuna and Bhima are not to be blamed! Mahabharata war - Day 14 Fall of Jayadratha

Episode#68 News of Arjuna's oath reached the enemy. The spies informed Duryodhana that Arjuna, having learnt that Jayadratha was the cause of Abhimanyu death, had vowed to kill Jayadratha before sunset the next day. Vriddhakshatra, the illustrious King of Sindhi's was blessed with a son Jayadratha. During his breath, a voice was heard to say: "This prince will attain great glory in the happy regions above after being slain in the battle. One who, among the warriors of all ages, ranks among the most illustrious, will in the field of battle shall get his head severed from the body." All living beings must die but truth is always bitter! Vriddhakshatra was grieved to hear the voice declare his son's end. In his disturbed state of mind, he uttered a curse "He, who shall cause my son's head roll down on the ground, his head shall be burst at that very moment into fragments."
