Untold story episode#87
Thirty-six years of Mahabharata war elapsed and several unprecedented changes occurred in Dwarka city. The notable ones were - Sudarshan Chakra, Panchajanya conch and the chariot all the special weapons of Lord Krishna together with the plough weapon of Balarama disappeared from the earth. The sudden disappearance created panic among the Yadava and feeling extremely insecure they approached Krishna. Vasudev Krishna suggested them to visit various holy places and take holy baths; accordingly the Yadava visited various pilgrimages for emancipation of their sins.
They visited Prabhas but it happened to be an inauspicious day of eclipse which was sure to bring evil. After taking holy bath in the sea, instead of offering prayers, the Yadava started drinking and amongst them, the two survivors of Mahabharata war started a furious arguments and they were Satyaki (fought from Pandavas side) and (Kritavarma fought from Kauravas side). They blamed and cursed eachother over various subjects and this proves to be the starting point to trigger the conflict among the Yadava in turn.
Satyaki alleged that Kritavarma was not Kshatriya and strongly criticized him for his involvement in the killing of Satrajit (Satyabhama father) for the theft of a valuable jewel that he would kill him right away. Pradyumna intervention failed and Satyaki killed Kritavarma with his sword. The Yadava divided in two groups, each group supported Satyaki and Kritavarma seperately and Satyaki was killed in the end. The weapons having been exhausted, each one resorted to the nearby bamboo (not knowing that it is made of iron) that grew near Prabhas to assualt each other. By the time it was discovered that they were iron-bamboos and hence resulted effortless killings it was than too late! Krishna and Balarama tried to intervene but the Yadava were already intoxicated and beyond their normal senses; some of them even went to the extent of attacking Krishna.
Within few days, the entire clan of Yadava consisting of over 4 million people including sons, grandsons and the great grandsons of Krishna, his cousins and other relatives perished away by killing each other in this drunken brawls. Balarama was highly depressed after seeing the mass destruction at Prabhas, he headed towards the forest. Lord Krishna asked Sarika and Babaru to bring Arjuna from Hastinapur so that he would shift all the ladies to Hastinapur but both got killed in between. Hence Krishna conferred this responsibility to his father Vasudev and sent one of his kinsman to Arjuna and realted the entire Yadava destruction so that he would come to Dwarka immediately.
Krishna met all the ladies and convinced them that Arjuna will soon come and take them all to Hastinapur. He also pronounced that he wished to go for renunciation and resort to mediation. The ladies wept on hearing about his departure but he kept walking ahead! He had already foreseen with his divine vision that Dwarka would soon sink into the sea. On his way, he saw Balarama walking ahead of him, before he could call him, he saw a serpent emerging from Balarama that crawled and slipped into the ocean, that meant that Balarama knew his life had come to an end and hence surrender his mortal and reached Vaikunta.
