Lord Krishna bids goodbye to the Earth...!

Untold story: Episode#88

Vasudev Krishna reposed under a tree and ruminate on his past - killing of Kansa and various demons; the destruction of the Kuru race in the war; he also recalled Gandhari curse to him and Yadavas!

He had long realised the curse of Gandhari and those from the great Sages! He reckoned that his role on this earth; the purpose of his incarnation was fulfilled and the time of departure has come like Balarama. At very moment, a passing hunter cited Krishna's foot and mistaking it for deer's face, shot an arrow that hit Krishna's left foot, when he went closer to pick up the deer, he realised his mistake and pleaded Krishna for forgiveness...!

Krishna consoled him by narrating to him that in his previous birth as Lord Rama in Treta yuga, he killed Vaali Sugreeva's brother hiding behind the tree which was not in accord with dharma. Krishna was now reaping the price for the same through the hunter Jara, who was King Vaali in his previous birth and thus Krishna left the mortal world. Krishna's mortal exit from the earth marks the beginning of Kali yuga the degraded age of squabbles, revolts and insurgence.

Arjuna made arrangements for woman folk and the surviving members to leave Dwarka within 7 days as Krishna had already envisaged that the city would drown. Krishna's father Vasudev left for heavenly abode after hearing his son Krishna had bid good-bye to the earth. Arjuna performed the last rites of Krishna and his kinsmen, all the ladies and children took whatever possession they had and moved towards Hastinapur with Arjuna escorting them! As soon as the people walked away from Dwarka city, the city sank into the sea even as the large waves devoured the city.

on their way, the thieves of Nishada tribe stopped the group of children and women when they discovered that they were escorted with only one man carrying bow and arrow. Arjuna, once a great archer of his time, now finds difficult to lift his bow after losing the divine powers attained through the divine mantras to invoke the weapons. He feels powerless and with great difficulty, manages to string his bow! Arjuna tries to invoke his divine weapons, but having forgotten the appropriate incantation, the thieves easily overpowered him and kill many people and kidnap the ladies, to escape from their heinous clutches, some women jumped into the nearby sea while some resort to self-immolation, by the time Arjuna arrives Hastinapur with very few remnant people, he is thoroughly crestfallen and disheartened.

Later, Vajranabhi son of Aniruddha, grandson of Pradyumna and great grandson of Krishna, arrived on the horizon as the King.

When the rest of the Pandavas heard from Arjuna everything that has occurred including the final departure of Vasudev Krishna to the high heavens alongwith his kinsman; the destruction of Yadavas clan and Arjuna inability to save the Yadavas ladies and children, they lost interest in the material world. The Pandavas crowned Parikshit the son of Subhadra & Abhimanyu and grandson of Arjuna and started their journey towards heaven. They walked north on snow-clad mountains of Mandara whose peak touched the heavens.
