Episode#45 The air was rich with the pungent odour of horses and elephant dungs, vultures flew over the Kurukshetra battlefield that reeked of war, death and devastation. When Duryodhana entered the battlefield in his chariot, his army received him with great cheer, filled with renewed enthusiasm; he surveyed the battlefield as far as his eyes could take him, the massive ocean of warriors stood spread-eagle on both the sides. Episode#43 Before Mahabharata war began, Vasudev Krishna asked all Pandavas how many days they would take to finish the war of Mahabharata alone. Bhisma Pitamah answered that he would take 20 days, Drona replied 25 days, Karna said 24 days and Arjuna told 28 days, when he asked how many days he would take to finish the war alone, Barbarika answered that he could finish it in one minute. He stated that a single arrow is enough to destroy all his opponents in the war, and it would then return back to his quiver. Since Balarama was Guru of Duryodhana, he was welcomed in Hastinapur with great dignity in the presence of all elders of Kuru family including Duryodhana. The refusal culminated into Mahabharata war that lasted for 18 days in the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
