Mahabharata war day 17 - fall of Karna

Episode#71 The seventeenth day, a great battle followed, the son of Surya Karna aimed a dazzling fire spitting, double tongued serpent like arrow at Arjuna, Krishna instantly pressed the vehicle down five fingers deep in the mid, so that the serpent shaft missed Arjuna's head but struck off his helmet. Arjuna was furious and he fixed a determined dart on his bow to end Karna. But Karna left side of his wheel of his chariot suddenly sank in the bloody mire. Mahabharata War Day 10 Fall of Bhisma

Episode#64 On the 10th day using Shikhandi as armour, Arjuna attacked Bhisma. When Shikhandi darts pierced his chest rage of Sparks flew from Bhisma eyes and he glared as if to consume Shikhandi. But immediately constrained himself and decided not to be provoked into fighting Shikhandi as it was unworthy of a warrior to attack woman. He was well aware that his end was near; Shikhandi went on discharging his arrows unaware of the emotional upheaval in Bhisma mind. Episode#54 Far away - Karna sat sulking as the conch blew followed by war cries. He felt dejected for being kept away from the battle as per Bhisma Pitamaha demand. Episode#28 Back in Hastinapur, the Kaurava as were dismayed at witnessing the glory of Pandavas! Sakuni planned a dice game wherein the dices were especially made from Jarasandha bones and played to his tunes. Yudhishtira loved playing dice but was not very proficient and was easily defeated by the deceitful Sakuni. The Pandavas lost everything they possessed including their wife Draupadi. Episode#17 Once Drona organized a game show to exhibit the proficiency of various skills of his pupils; Dhritarashtra, Bhisma, Vidura, Gandhari, Kunti and entire court along with all the courtiers formed a eager audience. All were awestruck and spellbound watching the Pandavas and Kauravas displaying their magnificent skills with total confidence and ease. Kunti and birth of Karna

Episode#12 Pandu was married to Kunti, the daughter of King Sursena of the Yadavas clan where she was known as Pritha, King Kuntibhoja the elder brother of king Sursena, who was childless had adopted Pritha and renamed her as Kunti. When Kunti was young, her father King Kuntibhoja welcomed a visiting Brahmin as their guest and asked Kunti to attend him. In those days sex hospitality was offered to distinguished guests. (A few scriptures mention about a Brahmin from whom Kunti begot a child a child who was supposedly named as Karna but it has not been clearly established elsewhere and hence Karna is widely known to be the child of Sun-God).
