Why Sakuni did not want Duryodhana to marry Subhadra?

Episode#22

The cunning Sakuni knew that if Duryodhana married Subhadra then it would be impossible to forsake revenge and destroy Kuru dynasty, as Vasudev Krishna would not resort to any measures that would go against his sister Subhadra nor would take any step that would harm his paternal cousins - the Pandavas!

Sakuni was intent on not allowing the Kauravas to enter any kind of relationship with the Yadavas clan or anybody related to Vasudev Krishna's family.

To create unnecessary confusion and chaos, the cunning Sakuni in an attempt to mislead Vasudev Krishna, who did not had the faintest idea about Duryodhana proposed alliance with Subhadra.

He casually stated to him to initiate the marriage preparation! Vasudev Krishna could not decipher what marriage Sakuni was talking about, Sakuni dropped a bomb by telling Vasudev Krishna that Duryodhana had gone to Mathura to meet Balarama with Subhadra's marriage proposal.

As per Sakuni's prediction, Vasudev Krishna was immensely disturbed. Sakuni was confident that Vasudev Krishna will not let this happen and thus he will be able to take his father's revenge by destroying the Kuru dynasty.

In Mathura, Balarama was happy to hear about Subhadra-Duryodhana alliance but did not offer any commitment to Duryodhana. On the contrary, he asked him to wait for some time until he obtained to take a consent from his family before finalizing the proposal.

Duryodhana stayed overnight at Balarama place, he was eager to meet Subhadra but there was not the remotest opportunity to do so, the only option for him was to wait until dawn.
