Arjuna enters the battlefield of Kurukshetra

Episode#46

Arjuna's chariot entered the Kurukshetra from other side carrying the emblem of Lord Hanuman on the chariot's flag. Arjuna gazed at the vast ocean of Pandavas and Kauravas warriors that stood facing each other, he looked his brothers, uncle's and nephews ready to fight one another and they were ready to drenched the earth with blood, like Duryodhana he too felt guilty, he threw down his bow and arrow and bent his head in front of Krishna and with tears in his eyes he begged to withdraw from the scene.

He said to Vasudev Krishna who posed as his charioteer "How can I shoot arrow at Bhisma Pitamah who loved me so much, how can I fight with Guru Drona who taught me the skill of archery and he loved me more than his own son Aswasthama; how can I fight with my uncle Shalya and all my loved ones! Krishna I will never live peacefully for rest of my life after this disheartening blood shed of my kith and kin, nothing is worth the price of the lives of those who will die in this war...then why you are forcing me to fight, O Vasudev Krishna - please forgive me! I do not want to fight this war and for what purpose? Just for the piece of land."

He continued "You want me to kill my own people, the Kurukshetra, what happens to our women and children, they will be vulnerable if they become widows and orphans, it will result in the intermingling of castes; their sons will be shunned as casteless! I see no sense killing my own brothers, uncles, friends and innocent warriors; this is sheer cruelty and not nobility. I would rather peace than vengeance - No, Vasudev Krishna, I cannot commit such a crime - it is no less than a million sins!

Why Sakuni did not want Duryodhana to marry Subhadra?

Episode#22 The cunning Sakuni knew that if Duryodhana married Subhadra then it would be impossible to forsake revenge and destroy Kuru dynasty, as Vasudev Krishna would not resort to any measures that would go against his sister Subhadra nor would take any step that would harm his paternal cousins - the Pandavas! Sakuni was intent on not allowing the Kauravas to enter any kind of relationship with the Yadavas clan or anybody related to Vasudev Krishna's family. To create unnecessary confusion and chaos, the cunning Sakuni in an attempt to mislead Vasudev Krishna, who did not had the faintest idea about Duryodhana proposed alliance with Subhadra. Vasudev Krishna could not decipher what marriage Sakuni was talking about, Sakuni dropped a bomb by telling Vasudev Krishna that Duryodhana had gone to Mathura to meet Balarama with Subhadra's marriage proposal. As per Sakuni's prediction, Vasudev Krishna was immen

Tales of Pandavas and Kauravas

Untold story episode #95 Vaisampayana the student of sage Vyasa narrated to Janamejaya, the tale of Pandavas and the Kauravas and all the kings who ruled the land of Bharat Varsh - this tale was known as Mahabharata. The tale was composed by his guru Sage Vyasa and written by Lord Ganesha. He questioned sage Vaisampayana, at the end "I am confused " said Janamejaya "who is the hero of this tale? And who is the villain?" "Who shall we call villain? Duryodhana who refused to share even a small piece of land? Yudhishtira, who gambled away his wife and kingdom? Bhisma, who prevented Dhritarashtra from becoming the king because he was blind,  Shantanu, who sacrificed his son's future to satisfy his own lust? Or is it Gandhari, for blindfolding herself to her son's misdeeds and faults? Or maybe Lord Krishna, who had long ago promised the Earth-goddess to rid the world of unrighteous kings? You decide who is hero and who is villain" said Vaisampayana.  ++
