Yudhishtira seeks benediction from Bhisma...

Episode#50

Yudhishtira crossed the lines of armed soldiers, walked straight to Bhisma Pitamah, touched his feet and said humbly, "Pitamah permit us to fight this battle, unfortunately we dare to fight against you, our own unconquerable and incomparable Pitamah, but not without seeking your precious benediction!"

Pitamah replied "Born in the Bharat-race, you have acted according to our code of conduct, go ahead and you will experience victory! I am however, bound by obligation to the throne of Hastinapur and I must fight for the Kauravas, but I assure you that you will not face defeat."

Yudhishtira approached Guru Drona who blessed him saying "I and Aswasthama are morally bound to serve the King as he has provided us with food, shelter and basic amenities as per the norms.

I cannot deviate from their obligation without violating the laws of loyalty and righteousness as it would amount to treachery. We may have to battle against you but nevertheless victory is yours."

Yudhishtira also approached Kripa and king Salya for their blessings and returned to his regiment.

Episode #98 The End This is the last episode of my book Mahabharata Janani Janmabhoomi. Mahabharata is the history of kings and sages, essence of all sacred texts, beautiful in language, with subtle meanings and logic. Mahabharata war - Day 15 Fall of Acharya Drona.

Episode#69 On the fifteenth day, the war did not cease even after the sunset but continued as mentioned before in Torchlight. The Kurukshetra field presented strange sight with burning torches - the generals and soldiers on both the sides we're engaged in battle, thousands of torches burnt and were used as signals, devised for night time. Ghatotkacha and his troops of demons (who are stronger at night) found darkness an additional advantage and violently attacked Duryodhana army. Duryodhana heart sank when he saw thousands of his men destroyed by Ghatotkacha and his demon army moving in the air and attacking in strange and unexpected ways.
