On fifth day the battle grew fiercer and Drona, Bhisma and Salya collectively attacked Bhima. Shikhandi supported Bhima by pouring a shower of arrows on Bhisma, as soon as Shikhandi stepped in, Bhisma turned away, as Shikhandi was born a girl. Bhisma was however destined to die since abiding by Kshatriya's norms not to attack on woman would bring his death closer.

When Drona show Bhisma withdrawal, he attacked Shikhandi brutally and compelled him to withdraw! The entire morning of the 5th day was reeking with terrible slaughter and annihilation. By noon, Duryodhana dispatched a large force to oppose Satyaki but he destroyed it completely and advanced to attack Bhurisravas - who being a powerful opponent, led Satyaki towards severe distress.

The ten sons is Satyaki saw their father's plight and attacked intensely on Bhurisravas who remained undaunted by numbers of ferociously counter attacked them and all their weapons were dismembered - and they were all slain and strewn on the field like a huge trees struck down by lighting. Satyaki wild with rage and grief, drove forward at a staggering pace whereby both the chariots smashed into one another and crumbled to pieces and the warriors stood face to face with sword and shield in desperate one-to-one combat. Bhima appeared suddenly and took away Satyaki by force into his chariot and drive away! Why did he do it? The reason was that Bhima knew that Bhurisrava was renowned as the only unbeaten swordsman and he did not Satyaki to be slain.

Arjuna killed thousands of Duryodhana soldiers who perished like moths in the fire! As the sun went down, Bhisma declared cease fire. The Pandavas princes and army surrounded Arjuna and greeted him with loud cries of appreciation and triumph. The armies on both the sides retired with their exhausted horses and worn-out fleet of elephants.

Far away, Draupadi sat in her balcony and remembered how she was astounded when Vasudev Krishna had disclosed the truth that the Karna was not a sut-putra (charioteer's son) but the eldest son of Kunti.

She had met and apologized to Karna and uttered with remorse - "If I had married to you I would not have been gambled away or publicly humiliated since you possessed all the 5 qualities of Pandavas." Karna had replied, "Devi, please forgive me for having insulted you in the House of Dice. I beside myself, I was blinded with uncontrolled fury and thought of nothing but revenge! I failed to discern your worth, please forgive me, I will ensure that justice is done to you, and one day you shall tie your hair with all dignity that you deserve."

Episode#9 The story of the origin of Vyasa was known to a few as he was born in the middle of the night under strange circumstances. Janamejaya: Son of King Parikshit

Untold story: Episode #94 Janamejaya was the son of King Parikshit; his mother name was Iravati or Madravati. He ruled Indraprastha for 84 years 7 months and 23 days.
